Jennifer is an Agile and Lean professional with 16+ years of extended hands-on experience in coaching, leading and executing major operational and organizational transformation.  Jennifer currently works for a leading Fortune 100 Best Company headquartered in Columbus Ohio.   She owns many well-recognized professional designations like SPC, PMI-ACP, CSM, CALI, KMP and TKP.   In additional to the Agile/Lean expertise, Jennifer is also an experienced IT professional who played various roles such as programmer, project manager, system owner and Infrastructure & Operation manager in her career.   Jennifer enjoys traveling and playing competitive badminton during her leisure time.

Abstract

Most people might know that Agile practices have been established and well implemented in the Software Development or Information Technology for quite some time.  However, during the recent years, more and more focuses have been placed in the concept of agility across different industry segments such as military, healthcare and logistics.  Through the eyes of an experienced Agile/Lean coach during her 24-hour journey as a patient in a local hospital, the linkage to business agility was observed.  The hospital is well known of their recent transformation journey.   

During this 24-hour period, the coach was able to understand how the hospital implemented     visualization and interaction of the work that impacts operations and builds confidence to not only the team members but also customers.  She also observed how the culture change is well rooted and adopted by the individuals in the organization.  In addition, the coach was able to identify how the hospital invested in functions that enable market differentiation.    Finally, being a coach who experienced and observed as patient, she was able to bring it home and prove the importance of hospital’s agility that builds trust and takes care of customers’ needs which directly impact the business value.
